Dipeptidylpeptidase IV Inhibitor IV, K579 is an agent that acts as a low-binding CD26 (dipeptidyl peptidase IV) inhibitor. The inhibitor is a cyanopyrrolidine compound that is more potent and acts as a slower binding inhibitor than the used dipeptidyl peptidase IV inhibitor, NVP-DPP728. Research shows that it can conserve endogenously secreted active forms of glucagon-lke peptide-1, heighten insulin response and can ameliorate glucose excursion.
