ETYAhasananti-inflammatorymechanism,byincreasingHuR-mediated-MKP-1mRNAstABIlitythatleadstothespecificsuppressionofCCL2/MCP-1duringinflammatoryprocesses.StudieshaveshownthatETYAincreasesMKP-1expressionthroughHuRatthepost-transcriptionallevelinareceptor-independentmanner. TherebyprovidingevidencethatETYAisapotentialtherapeuticmodulatorofinflammation.ETYA"sinfluenceon suppressingCCL2/MCP-1expressionisanemergingtherapeuticstrategyforthetreatmentofneurodegenerativediseasessuchas Alzheimer"sdisease,multiplesclerosis,andbrainischemia.
Arecentresearchregardingupperaerodigestivecancer(anaggressivemalignancy)hasrevealedthatPPARγpathwayswouldbeanoveltherapyforthiscancer.ETYAisaPPARγactivatorandresultsfromthisstudyhaveshownthatitdownregulatescellproliferationandhasantineoplasticfeatures.
