USE
Arecoline HBr is a covalent inhibitor of ACAT1 which binds to ACAT1 tetramers, but not to ACAT2 and DLAT. Study of mice with Arecoline HBr has resulted in a dose-dependent reduction in tumor mass. As it also seems to be effective in improving learning ability, it is suggested as a treatment of Alzheimer"s disease possibly due to its carcinogenic properties.
