Amlodipine is a dihydropyridine, calcium-channel blocking agent which is used to manage hypertension and coronary artery disease. It can be used as either monotherapy or combination therapy. Amlodipine along with other calcium channel blockers may protect stroke than any other classes of blood pressure-controlling drugs. Calcium channel blockers are considered to be the first choice of Raynaud"s phenomenon.
