USE
Beta-Lactamase can be used to reduce levels of penicillin in patients with severe penicillin reactions. It is used in the production of penicillin. Penicillinase from Bacillus cereus has been used in a comparison study with penicillinase from Bacillus subtillis where the Michaelis constant, shape of the Ph/activity curve and immunological properties were shown to be significantly different.
